1st Venue Reveiw

have you ever been to Lord Nelsons Bar and Grill?? 1080 8 ave S.W ?? its not far from the C train.. Well if you haven't and are curious here is my small review of the Place.

The first time I went I can barely Remember But I do know that each Time I have been there since I have had to remember not to order so many Pints .. I know the place as a live music venue but if you were to go there at any other time it looks like a Large Traditional Pub with Punching game and Foosball table included .. pool, darts, pub food and everything you would expect from an everyday joint ..but this is no ordinary joint when the music starts .. each time I personally have gone to a show there from Metal to punk to indie and acoustic each experience varies like the place changes to fit the music! always meeting more people from the scene every time I go and seeing old friends!!

Im heading there this Friday ! Come and rock out!!

This Weeks shows ! A Lot that's not to be Missed! and thank yous!

YYC rocks / 420 Weekend / remember the JUNOs

Im glad that everyone had a good time this weekend.. I didn't go out but plan to next weekend!!
this week is my first Band of the Week and I will have more of the coming weekends shows all posted up by Friday!!

This weekend there were a whole bunch of shows that included a ton of local bands and some touring bands too!! one of the coolest things I heard that the YYC Rocks for Kidneys made $6672 for .. you guessed it Kidneys! :) Every single YYC Rocks show has brought in a whack of coin for their Causes! The first one I went to was a fundraiser for the Tsunami that hit Japan a couple years ago and also one of the first shows I filmed! although my camera went missing later that night lol :P I have heard nothing but great about YYC rocks shows! make sure to check out the next one when It comes along!

Also every 420 show that was played I heard went awesomely although there were some special guest appearances by Calgary's finest LOL

Tonight is the JUNOs !! at 8o,clock from what I have heard and we have some locals over there! tune is to see if you can pick out the Calgary guys and gals!!

It came to my attention that in the last Post I was very Negative! I want you to know that is not always how I feel ! and that this is not a blog about the negative parts of our scene ! this is a Music scene that I love a ton! and will only say bad things if they deserve being talked about in my eyes ... %90 of the time I will only be talking about the great things this scene has to offer!!! cheers all ! I will post again soon!!

Scene talk and this weekends Awesomeness for 420

Wow its becoming more clear every year that I remain in our fair city's music scene that this City needs some sort of scene police or power that keeps people from fucking each other around haha .. promoters, Venues, Bands and even fans are continuously at each others throat about money!! its the utmost prevalent problem that concerns everyone and will never stop! I believe that if there was a way to get more people involved in the scene that increases the economy of the scene we may not have these problems so much and people wouldn't be posting about how much money it costs to play for free. On the other side too there are just assholes who should not be in the scene that actually are taking money from people and being fucking sneaky about there business making it harder for the people in the industry to openly trust others. there are a ton of problems that make it hard for our scene to grow and sometimes even the smallest disputes can stunt the scene! we are all here for the music , respect the scene your in!
